First established in 1828 Springbank Distillery was taken over by the Mitchell family in 1837. Apart from closing temporarily in 1926 and 1979, it is the oldest family-run distillery in Scotland. The family own the second of three remaining distilleries in the Campbelltown region, Glengyle. The third, Glen Scotia, is owned by the Loch Lomond Group. There were once over thirty distilleries operating in Campbelltown.
Springbank produces three distinct variants of single malt: Longrow, Springbank and Hazelburn. This 10 year old Longrow was released in October 2020 for Longrow's Virtual Open Day.
It is matured in 2 Fresh Pinot Noir & 2 Refill Malbec casks and bottled at 53.7% abv. All Springbank whiskies are non-chill filtered with no artificial colours added.
