With a long history in the drinks industry, having been involved in La Reserve Fine Wines & Spirits and Murray McDavid independent bottlers, and later the purchasing of Bruichladdich Distillery in 2000, Mark Reynier founded the Waterford Distillery in 2014 from a converted former Guinness brewery and set out to produce the first terroir-driven Irish single malt whisky.
Waterford puts a particular emphasis on barley and Single Farm Origin, placing Terroir, Traceability and Transparency at the heart of its philosophy.
This expression was distilled from barley grown and harvested in 2015 in County Wexford by Simon Neville, who has farmed there for over 40 years.
Matured in a combination of 36% first-fill US oak, 21% American oak, 24% French oak and 19% Vin Doux Naturel for 4 years, it is bottled at 50% abv, has no added colouring and is non chill-filtered.
