Pádraic and Jimín Ó'Griallais are sixth generation Connemara distillers. In 2016 they founded Micil Distillery in Galway, named after their great-great-grandfather Micil Mac Chearra, who began distilling illicit poitín back in 1848.
This is the inaugural whiskey release of their Galway distillate. Limited to just 360 bottles, it was made with 100% Irish Barley, malted with turf from their own family land. It was double distilled and matured in Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado and bottled at 50% ABV.
