The Glendalough Distillery was set up by a group of friends from Wicklow and Dublin. Their inspiration stems from the story of St. Kevin, a 6th century monk who founded a monastery in Glendalough and their passion for reviving the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland. Together they built a craft distillery near Glendalough in the Wicklow mountains, where they initially distilled Poitín and subsequently, Gin. They work closely with Irish whiskey distilleries to source and develop their whiskey for their whiskey range. In 2019, Mark Anthony Brands International took complete ownership of the brand.
The Glendalough Pot Still Irish Oak Finish is matured in ex-bourbon casks, then further matured in virgin Irish Oak harvested from the Wicklow mountains. This expression is bottled at 43% abv.
