Rademon Estate Distillery was founded in 2013 by Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong and is located in Co. Down. The estate dates back to 565AD, with the estate house dated to 1667. David and Fiona started out making a world class gin which launched in 2014 under the Shortcross brand. It takes its name from Crossgar nearby, which directly translates in Gaelic as "the short cross". Whiskey distillation began back in 2015. Along with the Shortcross whiskey brand of whiskey exclusively distilled at Rademon Estate, Fiona and David have created the Irish Whiskey Bonding Co, which incorporates Rademon Estate whiskey with sourced whiskeys.
Grafter is a blend of 5 Irish whiskeys - Shortcross Malt along with sourced double and triple distilled malt, potstill and grain whiskey. It is aged in ex-bourbon, sherry and virgin American oak. It is bottled at 43% abv.
