Powers John’s Lane Cask Strength

Irish Whiskey from the Midleton Distillery

John Power founded the Powers distillery at John's Lane in Dublin in 1791. For a long time, Powers was the best-selling Irish whiskey in Ireland. In 1966, the two remaining Dublin distilleries - John Jameson & Sons and John Power & Son, amalgamated with the Cork Distilleries Company of Old Midleton to form Irish Distillers. By 1974 the Dublin distilleries had closed their doors and all whiskey production moved to New Midleton in Cork.

The Powers John’s Lane Distillery was known for its Pot Still Irish whiskeys and was made famous by one of Ireland’s most popular brands, Powers Gold Label.

This Single Pot Still Irish whiskey has been matured for at least 12 years, mainly in first fill American bourbon casks with a small amount of distillate which has been matured in Oloroso sherry butts.

Powers John’s Lane Cask Strength is bottled at 57.8% ABV.
